Returning to Linux

Many years ago, I was a sometimes Linux user. I'd spin it up on a VM or some old box just to fool around with different distros. It was fun, and opened up a few doors in my early IT career.

The last 6 or 7 years, however, I have been predominantly on Mac and Windows. I have not been involved with the world of Open Source. I embraced the closed corporate gardens of MS, Apple and Google. I willingly signed up for services and allowed devices to monitor and track in exchange for the ease of use.

Recently, however, I got my hands on a couple of beefy laptops that needed a refresh. I chose to see if Linux distros could do the job.

They did.

And I am impressed with what has been done. It's easy to get right back into it. These distros also run fast and clean... certainly better than Windows. Gaming on Linux has also improved tremendously.

I suggest considering Linux for your next system. If you need any help getting started, drop me a line and I could help guide you, or point you to some great resources to help you start.
